Dear BCE Families,

 

BCE Spirit Wear ~ You may have noticed the sea of blue that swept across our campus today.  The BCE t-shirts and sweatshirts have arrived and look amazing!  Many thanks to Myra Schiermeyer and our Parent Club for coordinating this project. 

If you missed the opportunity to purchase a shirt, a limited number of youth size t-shirts will be available for purchase at the Math Madness Night next Friday.

Science Fair ~ Congratulations to our BCE students who participated in the Santa Cruz County Science Fair and a special shout out to 5 of our students who will be receiving awards for their projects on Monday March 16^th.  Well done Leila D., Coral T., Hailey, M., Ruby H. and Ashley M., we're so proud of you!

Math Madness! = Please join me next Friday night, March 20^th for an evening of fun and math games.  Games will be appropriate for all grade levels (K-5) and are designed for fun and learning!

Pool Closed ~ HS Pool closed Saturday, March 15th due to construction in the area.  

Spring Break ~ I want to make sure you are all aware of our Spring Break schedule this year.  Spring Break runs from Monday March 30^th through Monday April 6^th.  That means students will not return to class until Tuesday April 7^th

Lost and Found ~ Our Lost & Found area is overflowing with jacket, sweaters, lunch boxes, shirts, hats, sweatshirts, etc.  Please come by and take a look.  Any items left when we leave for Spring Break will be donated to a local charity.

English Learner Parent Meeting  ~ Please save the date for a DELAC (District English Learner Advisory Committee) meeting on March 25th from 6-7 pm at Mountain Community Resources in Felton. All parents of English Learners, who are interested in networking and giving input about district services, are invited.  There will be refreshments served, and babysitting will be provided.

The BYOD 1:1 initiative will be starting the first day of school in the Fall 2015 for grades 6 to 12. 

 

Many parents have been asking for more information regarding this initiative.  We have developed an informational webpage that may help answer many of your questions. This webpage will be continually updated as we get more good questions and information.  Please email us your questions to onetoone@slvusd.org, as noted at the bottom of the webpage.  We appreciate your feedback as we move forward with this endeavor.

BCE PARENT CLUB EVENT & MEETING REMINDERS:

Spirit wear – The BCE spirit wear is in!!  And it looks amazing!!  Your child will be bringing home their shirts and sweatshirts soon if they haven't already.  We did order a few extra kid sizes in our t-shirts, and those will be for sale next Friday at the Family Math Madness Night.

  

Family Math Madness Night – Bring the whole family over to the multi-purpose room on Friday, March 20^th at 6:30 pm for some rocking good math times.  We will have a wide variety of math games at all grade levels for you to enjoy with the entire family. You will learn about the importance of games in developing math concepts, and be able to take versions to play at home.  You will not want to miss this!

 

BCE Carnival – Our annual carnival and silent auction is on Saturday, May 16th from 10:3 am to 3:30 pm.  This is the event that every BCE student looks forward to the whole year!  The extravaganza includes a huge variety of festivities for all to enjoy.  All parents are needed to make this a special experience for their child so we need you to commit to helping out with this event.  Please sign up for an event outside your teacher's door or email Tammy Schultz @ bcepc.execs@gmail.com.  Thank you all for your support with this important fundraiser.

 

Yearbook - The yearbook is now on sale for $20.  Look for the form that went home this week.  The deadline to order is April 30^th, but you won't want to wait, as they tend to sell out quickly.  It's not too late to share your photos with our yearbook staff. Email them to bouldercreekyearbook@gmail.com.  Please include the name of the event in your email.  Thanks a ton!!

 

Officers & Committee Chairs Needed – Many hands make light work!  We need your hands.  In order for us to provide the many programs, benefits, and, events to our BCE community that we do - we need wo/manpower.  We will definitely need 2 treasurers, a co-secretary, and a co-vice president for next year, but all positions will be up for election in May.  If there is an event or program that you and your family really enjoy, please consider being a committee chair.  All past information for any program you consider will be available to you to help you in your venture as well as a team of committed parents to back you up.

 

Family Dinner Night – Thank you for dining at the Boulder Creek Brewery to support student services at BCE.  The night was hopping and we saw a ton of familiar faces.
