BCE Bearmail 1/26/17

January 26, 2017

Dear BCE Families,

Reminder ~ Just as a reminder that there will be NO SCHOOL tomorrow. Our amazing teachers will be participating in professional development to grow their expertise in Reading Workshop.

Congratulations  ~  Gregory Souza and Sierra Arnett have won this yearbook cover contest. Gregory's picture will be on the front cover of the 2016-17 yearbook and Sierra's artwork will be on the back cover.  Thank you to all our 5th graders who participated in the contest.  This year's entries were the best yet and made the final decision very difficult.

Valentines Day ~ As February rolls in we start thinking about Valentine's Day.  Please remember that if your student brings Valentine cards for 1 student in the class, they need to bring cards for all the students in their class.  Valentine's Day is not a day for hurt feelings and hearts.

The BCE Way ~ Please ask your students to describe ways that they've demonstrated the BCE Way this week.  How did they show they were RESPONSIBLE, SAFE and RESPECTFUL?

Absences ~ If your student will be absent from school due to illness, please call the BCE Attendance Line at 338-2887.  Please call every day until you student returns and let us know how their recovery is going.

Flu Season ~ We're in the middle of flu season, please remind your students to wash their hands with soap and water on a regular basis.  Donations of tissues and anti-bacterial wipes are also always appreciated.

Lost & Found ~ As you may be aware, there are dozens of lost and found items hanging on racks in front of the office.  Please take a moment to look for anything that may belong to your student.  All items remaining at the end of January will be removed and donated to a local charity.  Thank you!
