BCE Bearmail 1/10/14

January 10, 2014
Dear BCE Families,

Happy New Year! ~ Welcome back.  I hope you had a wonderful Winter Break and are ready for all the great things 2014 has in store for us here at BCE!

BCE Website ~ The January issue of the Helping Children Learn newsletter has been uploaded to our website.  You can access it through the "links" tab on the homepage.  Don't forget to check the website regularly for important information such as the school calendar and upcoming events.

Contact Information ~ The new year is a good time to update your contact information.  If you have moved, changed phone numbers, added or deleted emergency student pick up information (including phone numbers) please let the office know.

Flu Season ~ We're in the middle of flu season; please remind your students to wash their hands with soap and water on a regular basis.  Donations of anti-bacterial wipes are also always appreciated.

Attendance Facts = If circumstances prevent your student from being at school for five or more consecutive days, we can create an Independent Study plan for them so they are able to keep up with their important school work.  Of course nothing can replace classroom instruction.  Most of the lessons that the teachers present to the students cannot be translated to a worksheet.  Students also suffer a social disconnect from their friends when they are away from their classmates for an extended period of time and can have a difficult time reconnecting.

Thank you for supporting your student by getting them to school every day and on time!

Safety Tip of the Week: If you arrive on campus before 2:30 pm to pick your student up at the end of the day, please come by the office to sign in.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!
