Fwd: BCE Bearmail 8/28/15

August 28, 2015

Dear BCE Families,

Welcome Back! ~ We're off to a great start and 2015-2016 promises to be another outstanding school year here at BCE.  It was wonderful to see so many of you at the Principal's Coffee on Monday.  We have such a great community to support our students here at BCE.  Thank you!

New Feature ~ Each Weekly Bearmail will now contain a quote if the week.  I will be taking these quotes from a book called, Changing Kids' Lives One Quote at a Time by Steve Reifman.  My hope is that these quotes can be a conversation starter for you and your student or just something to reflect on as you journey through the important job of raising children.

Current Student Information ~ It's been a great first week of school.  Thank you for updating your student's information in InfoSnap.  It's important that we have up to date contact and medical information for each student.

Breakfast Club ~ Student Nutrition Services (SNS) is again serving breakfast in the Multi Purpose room before school.  All students at BCE are eligible to enjoy this free service.

If your student has dietary restrictions, and will be eating school lunches, Student Nutrition Services (SNS) will need to be notified.  You can obtain the correct form and forward it along electronically, by clicking on the LINKS tab on the BCE website.

Parent Club ~ Our September Parent Club Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, September 17th in the MP room at 6:30 pm.  All BCE parents and guardians are automatic members.  Free babysitting will be provided.

Site Council ~ If you are interested in serving on the Site Council for the 2015-16 school year, please complete the attached application and return it to Margaret Zavaroni in our office no later than Friday September 11th.  Our Site Council provides a very important function for our school.  The BCE Site Council is charged with helping to develop, recommend, and annually review the Single Site Plan for Student Achievement.  Additionally, the Site Council meets to provide ongoing informational and educational process directed towards parents and other interested persons about current school programs.  Thank you for your consideration on joining this special group.

Safety ~ We have a large number of students arriving before 8 am.  There is no on-campus supervision until 8:10 am.  For their safety, please do not drop children off before 8:10 am.  Also, please remember no dogs on campus.
