Dear BCE Families,
Congratulations! ~ Let's congratulate Bryce in Mrs. Anderson's class, who is being honored for winning 2nd place in the Bookshop Santa Cruz Young Writers Contest. His narrative, The Big Trip, will be published in a book that can be purchased at the bookstore. A copy of the book will be available to check out at the BCE library! Bryce will receive a gift certificate, have his photo in the Sentinel, and will read his story on KZSC radio on Tuesday, December 1st during a live broadcast from 7-8pm.

Our book fairs are the only source of funding available to our library and all profits go to purchase new books and library equipment for BCE students. When you're visiting campus for your student's conference, consider stopping by for a look and perhaps even some holiday shopping!
Canned Food Drive ~ The Valley Christmas Project Canned Food Drive is up and running. Please send in your non-perishable donations to help support families in our community. This is a great opportunity for our children to discover the good feeling we receive when we do good things for others.

The Flyer Process for San Lorenzo Valley Unified School District is posted on the "home" page of the District website at www.slvusd.org. The flyers and/or blurbs are no longer inserted into the school newsletters or distributed to the children. The District is making an effort to reduce the amount of paper that is sent home with your child(ren) and is working together to streamline the newsletter so that you read about the most important information regarding your child's school. The District has created a website where all of the approved flyers will be posted (Community Opportunity).
