Dear BCE Families,

 

I hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving break.  I can't believe it's just two more weeks until Winter Break is here!

Canned Food Drive ~ The Valley Christmas Project Canned Food Drive is off and running.  Please send in your non-perishable donations to help support families in our community.  This is a great opportunity for our children to discover the good feeling we receive when we do good things for others.

Science Fair ~ Just a reminder that the BCE Science Fair will be taking place at the end of January.  All students from kindergarten through 5^th grade are invited to participate.  For more information visit http://bce.slvusd.org/student-activities/science-fair or contact our wonderful science teacher, Patty Hayes at phayes@slvusd.org.  Completed application forms can be returned to the office by December 11^th.

BOULDER CREEK ELEMENTARY'S HOLIDAY GIFT SHIFT!

Please mark your calendar for the annual BCE Gift Shift, on Friday December 11^th, 12:00 - 6:00. We will be collecting gently used toys, books, videos, and video games; however, we do not accept clothing items.  This year we will also have a section with items suitable for children to give to adults.  Donations can be delivered to the Office at Boulder Creek Elementary starting the week after Thanksgiving Vacation.  We will set up everything on Thursday, December 10^th.

Help Please! ~ Please make sure your students stay close to you during and after school pick up.  We have many students who appear to be unsupervised playing on the equipment or running up the hills which is not safe and off limits.  We want to make sure all our BCE Bears are safe and following the BCE Way.

Parking ~ As we all know, parking spaces off campus are extremely limited for our wonderful volunteers.  When picking up and dropping off students, please be aware that someone may be waiting for your space.

• Wednesday 12/9 = 2 for 1 Family Dinner Night and Karaoke, 5-9:30 (Boulder Creek Pizza and Pub)
• Thursday 12/10 = Parent Club Meeting, 6:30 BCE Library
• Friday 12/11 = BCE Holiday Gift Shift (see above)
• 12/21 – 1/4 = Winter Break (Please note that students will return to school on Tuesday January 5^th)
• Friday 1/8 = Family Game Night at BCE,  BINGO!

Did you know???

The wet weather is upon us! Please remind your students to wear sturdy shoes and walk.  Leaves, rain and mud can make for slippery conditions.  Also, thank you for reminding your student to keep their shoes tied. If they don't know how to tie their shoes, please double knot them before they leave the house in the morning.

BCE PARENT CLUB EVENT & MEETING REMINDERS:

Family Dinner & Karaoke Night Wednesday December 9 –  

It's holiday season and everyone is hustling and bustling around, but on December 9th make time for pizza and karaoke at the Boulder Creek Pizza and Pub between 5-9:30. 20% of all purchases will support the school's music program. 
So hustle on down, belt out a tune, grub on some pizza and support music education!

Science Fair  - Boulder Creek Elementary Science Fair, January 21st 2016, is open to all students, from Kindergarten through 5th grade.

 

Our Science Fair is a place where students can explore the world of science. Participants design and perform their own experiment, then present their findings in a non-competitive and supportive setting.

Gift Shift – On Friday, December 11^th we will have our beloved Gift Shift. We will be collecting donated items for children and adults alike that students and parents can choose to re-gift to a loved one. After the Thanksgiving holiday, we will have donation bins set up in the office. Please start looking through your things now. Adult items seem to be the most in need. Thank you for your support.
