Dear BCE Families,

 

Family Movie Night ~ I hope to see many of you tonight as our wonderful Parent Club sponsors this fun activity.  The doors open at 6:00 pm and the movie (The Princess Bride) will begin promptly at 6:30 pm.  Admission is free.


Grand Opening ~ Please see the attached flyer regarding the Grand Opening of our SLV Performing Arts Center (PAC).  We are so excited to have this new state of the art facility in our District.  Please join the festivities tomorrow and get a sneak preview of great things to come!


Need Kindergarten? ~ Kindergarten registration for Fall 2015 has begun!  Visit the BCE office to pick up a registration packet and sign up for a spot to attend one of our four Kindergarten orientations and tours. Tours will take place at 9 am on March 24th, April 23rd, May 12th and May 29th.  There is also a kindergarten visitation you can bring your kindergartner to on May 29th at 2 pm.  Please call or stop by the office to reserve your spot for a tour and/or visit.


Children must be five years old by August 31st in order to enroll in Kindergarten.  If your student has a September, October or November birthday you might be interested in our Transitional Kindergarten (TK) program at the Ludlow Center in Felton.  For more information you can call 335-4475.


1:1 Devices ~ You may have heard that our District is considering a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) for some of our District students.  Please read the attached letter from our District Edu Tech Committee.  Additional information coming soon.


Cell Phones ~ Just a reminder that if your student carries a cell phone on campus we need to have a permission slip signed by you on file in the office.  Additionally, cell phones need to be turned off during school hours and kept in backpacks.


The SLVHS Music Workshop ~ class will be performing at the Trout Farm on 2/22.  Music will start around 5 pm and the wonderful folks at the Trout Farm are donating 10% of the evening's profits to SLV!  Invite your friends and family for a night of good food and music for a great cause! 


NATURE ACADEMY INFORMATION NIGHT

Wednesday, March 18, 2015.  6-7 pm. in the SLV Middle School Library.

Come learn about the SLVUSD Charter School Program for middle school students who love to read and write extensively, explore widely, and contribute meaningfully to their community.   Applications will be accepted from March 18-April 17, 2015.  For more information please call: 336-5167  http://na.slvusd.org/

Attendance Facts:

Good attendance is the first step in developing a strong work ethic that will serve your student well all through their life.  School is their job right now and you support them in getting to school every day and on time, you are creating those good habits that will support them in successful careers.

Safety Tip of the Week:

Please remind your student to wear a helmet whenever they are riding a bicycle, skateboard, scooter, etc.  We want to protect those amazing brains of theirs!

BCE PARENT CLUB EVENT & MEETING REMINDERS:


Family Movie Night – Hey families! Join us tonight for a free showing of The Princess Bride.  The doors will open at 6 pm and the movie will start promptly at 6:30 pm.  Free popcorn and water will be provided.  The 5th grade families will also be selling baked goods to support their science camp efforts.  It's a fairy tale night you won't want to miss!
 
Staff Appreciation Week – Keep a look out for the flyers going home about the upcoming Staff Appreciation Week.  There are different activities planned for each day.  If you would like to help in any way, please email bcepc.execs@gmail.com as soon as you can!
 
BCE's Annual Carnival – Save the date!!  Our biggest event of the year is planned for Saturday, May 16th.  It's an extravaganza of awesomeness that the whole valley looks forward to each year.  The planning committee is forming already, so please email bcepc.execs@gmail.com if you would like to be a part of this amazing action.
 
Yearbook
In order to share your photos with our yearbook staff, email them to bouldercreekyearbook@gmail.com.  Only our wonderful Committee Chairperson, Wendy Sigmund will be able to view them.  Please include the name of the event in your email. Thanks a ton!!
