That's enough for next year…let's finish out this year….
Thank you all so much for the support you've provided BCE during this past year. With the generosity, support and dedication we've received from the BCE community it's been an amazing year and I'm so proud of our students and our school.
There are so many people in the background who make our school run. On behalf of the staff and district, I would like to thank all of you. Our Learning Community thrives because of all of our work together.
Also, I would like to thank you for all that you have done this year to support the learning of our students. Our end of the year assessments suggest a positive correlation between student reading at home and overall reading growth. I would like to encourage you to support your child in their summer reading by helping them choose "just right" books and providing time in his/her day for reading. Your child's report card will indicate the end of the year reading level. You can use www.scholastic.com/bookwizard to help choose books.
Finally, I would like to wish happy travels to several staff members who are moving on. Mrs. Karen Roddy is retiring after teaching in the SLVUSD for 30 years. Mr. Kristian Carson, Ms. Julianne Foxworthy, Ms. Kara Nickel, Ms. Rachel Turner and Ms. Amanda Bailey will all be leaving our BCE family. All of these individuals are dedicated, talented educators who have had a positive impact on the lives that they have touched and taught. We will miss them and wish them good health and happiness.
Have a Wonderful Summer Break. Enjoy the time with your children as they grow up so quickly.
Denise

The Flyer Process for San Lorenzo Valley Unified School District is posted on the "home" page of the District website at www.slvusd.org. The flyers and/or blurbs are no longer inserted into the school newsletters or distributed to the children. The District is making an effort to reduce the amount of paper that is sent home with your child(ren) and is working together to streamline the newsletter so that you read about the most important information regarding your child's school. The District has created a website where all of the approved flyers will be posted (Community Opportunity).
