BCE Bearmail 1/8/16

January 8, 2016

Dear BCE Families,

Happy New Year! ~ I hope you all had a wonderful Winter Break and were able to enjoy lots of quality time with those amazing students of yours.  2016 promises to be an exciting year full of growing, learning and a few surprises along the way!

BINGO ~ Please join me tonight for Family BINGO Night!  The fun begins at 6:30 pm in the MP and there is no charge to play Bingo.  Additionally, there will be pizza and dessert available for purchase.  Proceeds from these food items will support 5th grade Science Camp.  Thank you to our Parent Club for sponsoring this fun event.

Welcome! ~ I'd like to extend a warm BCE welcome to two new additions to our BCE family.  Myra Schiermeyer,or Ms. Myra as her students call her, will be working with our first graders in Room 24 while Mrs. Thomas is on maternity leave.  We are excited to have Myra join our team; she is a credentialed teacher with a passion for the students of BCE.  Additionally, I would like to welcome Idalberto Borjas (Mr. Idal) to the position of evening custodian.  Mr. Idal comes to us with lots of experience and enthusiasm.

Parent Math Night ~ Would you like to have a few more tools in your tool belt when it comes to helping your child with math homework? Around mid February, SLVUSD will hold a parent math education night titled "How Do I Help My Child at Home With Math?"  The parent math night will be planned according to your responses to the following survey.  Click on the link below to answer the very short survey.  Please complete the survey no later than Thursday, Jan. 14 at 3:00 pm. More information to follow once the survey has closed.
