Dear BCE Families,
Family Movie Night ~ I hope you all are able to join me tonight in our MP as our wonderful Parent Club sponsors Family Movie Night! We'll be watching Disney/Pixar's, Inside Out. Don't forget admission and popcorn are free and there will be a bake sale to support 5th grade Science Camp. The movie will begin promptly at 6:30p.m.
Family Art Night ~ Please join me on March 3rd for a BCE Family Arts Night! The Arts Council of Santa Cruz County along with our own BCE Parent Club is sponsoring this fun family event. After a light dinner, families will rotate together though four different art experiences. The fun begins at 6:00pm. I hope you can join us!
Lost and Found ~ Please come by and check out the extensive Lost and Found pile. Any items left at the end of the month will be collected and donated to a local charity.
Helping Your Child with Math Homework ~ Thank you BCE and SLE families for responding to our survey about your child and math at home. Please mark your calendars for Tuesday, March 1, 6-7:30pm for an interactive night of elementary math. Mrs. Myers from SLVE and Mrs. Ebrahimian from BCE will be presenting information and doing activities based upon your survey responses. The event will be held on the Quail Hollow campus. Some of the many topics covered will be: helping your child work through the problem, ways to communicate with your child and not give away the answer, and clarification on common core math. All elementary families, K-5, are invited to attend since topics are helpful at any age. Please RSVP by clicking on the following link so we can get a general head count:

The Flyer Process for San Lorenzo Valley Unified School District is posted on the "home" page of the District website at www.slvusd.org. The flyers and/or blurbs are no longer inserted into the school newsletters or distributed to the children. The District is making an effort to reduce the amount of paper that is sent home with your child(ren) and is working together to streamline the newsletter so that you read about the most important information regarding your child's school. The District has created a website where all of the approved flyers will be posted (Community Opportunity).
