Dear BCE Families,
Math Madness ~ I hope you can join me tonight for Math Madness! Join us for math games that build number sense, fluency, and strategic thinking. This event is appropriate for all grade levels and will be great fun for the whole family. The fun starts at 6:30 pm in the MP!
New Garden Beds! ~ We are one of the lucky recipients of Big Creek Lumber's "School Garden Bed Grant." Today we received delivery of lumber, soil, and tools that will allow us to expand BCE's Learning Garden. A BIG thank you to Big Creek Lumber and to Jacquie Spracklen for writing the grant. How lucky we are to have such a great BCE community and a great local business community!
BCE Spirit Wear ~ You may have noticed the sea of blue that swept across our campus today. The BCE t-shirts and sweatshirts have arrived and look amazing! Many thanks to Kat Gafford and our Parent Club for coordinating this project.
Congratulations! ~ Congratulations are in order for Gregory Souza, a 4th grader in Mrs. Gibney's class. Gregory participated in the Santa Cruz County Science and Engineering Fair last week. His project, "Is a Supercapacitor Scooter Possible?" will be recognized at an awards ceremony later this month. Way to go Gregory, we are so proud of you!
Need Kindergarten? ~ Kindergarten registration for Fall 2016 has begun! Visit the BCE office to pick up a registration packet and sign up for a spot to attend one of our two remaining Kindergarten orientations and tours. Tours will take place at 9am on April 14th, and May 27th. Please call or stop by the office to reserve your spot.
Children must be five years old by August 31st in order to enroll in Kindergarten. If your student has a September, October or November birthday you might be interested in our Transitional Kindergarten (TK) program at the Ludlow Center in Felton. For more information you can call 335-4475.

Did you know???
At the heart of good manners is a respect for oneself and others. Good manners convey a sense of respect for the sensibilities of other people. When you say, "thank you," you're taking the time to make the other person feel appreciated. Saying "please" respects a person's right not to do what you've asked.
Thank you for supporting your students by helping them practice their good manners.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend, enjoy the first day of Spring!

The San Lorenzo Valley Unified School District does not sponsor or endorse any of the organizations or events that are located here.
The Flyer Process for San Lorenzo Valley Unified School District is posted on the "home" page of the District website at www.slvusd.org. The flyers and/or blurbs are no longer inserted into the school newsletters or distributed to the children. The District is making an effort to reduce the amount of paper that is sent home with your child(ren) and is working together to streamline the newsletter so that you read about the most important information regarding your child's school. The District has created a website where all of the approved flyers will be posted (Community Opportunity).
