Dear BCE Families,

Math Night ~ Please join me on Tuesday evening for an interactive night of elementary math.  This is an adult only night (no childcare is provided) and is not a repeat of the last Parent Math Night.  Please join our own Mrs. Ebrahimian and SLE's Mrs. Myers at the Quail Hollow Campus in Ben Lomond (6:00 pm-7:30 pm).  Topics will include:  Number Talks, Math Practices, and Breakout sessions for grades K-2 and 3-5.  I hope to see you there!

It's not too late to turn in Walk/Jogathon money!  Please help our parent club reach their goal - they are almost there.  Money can be turned in to the office or your child's teacher.  Make checks payable to BCE Parent Club with "Walk/Jog" entered on the memo line.  Thank you!

Healthy Treats ~ Just a reminder that we have many students with dietary issues and food sensitivity.  Please consider this if you choose to bring in birthday or party foods.  Fruits, vegetables, cheese, crackers and popcorn are all good alternative to high sugar, low nutritional food.  Thanks for supporting our students!

Please help ~ Please return the form you received asking if you will be returning to BCE next year.  That information is critical to our staffing plan.  Thank you for you help!

Incoming 6th Grade Parent Night

Tuesday, May 10, 6:00 pm

Incoming Sixth-Grade Parent Night will be held on Tuesday, May 10 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Middle School Gym.

Parents of current Fifth-Grade students are invited to come for an informative presentation on the SLVMS Sixth-Grade program and school-wide opportunities for students.

This is your chance to hear the scoop on Middle School and have your questions answered.

Did you know???

In addition to academic skills your students are learning other skills each day they come to school.  They are learning social skills at recess and in collaborative work in the classroom.  They are learning perseverance and resiliency as they work through academic and social struggles and they are learning that school is important.

BCE PARENT CLUB EVENT & MEETING REMINDERS:

 

Family Dinner Night – Join us on Wednesday, April 20^th, from 5pm to 9:30 pm at Boulder Creek Pizza & Pub for a magical night of delicious food, fun and fabulous Karaoke. 20% of the night's proceeds will benefit our BCE kindergarteners.  You can dine-in, carry-out, or enjoy delivery to your home (338-2141).  You've got to sing when your spirit says "sing!"

 

Did you hear? – Big Creek Lumber donated. San Lorenzo Valley Water District grant.

 

YEARBOOK - The yearbook is now on sale for $20.  The deadline to order is April 30^th.  Questions contact bcepc.execs@gmail.com .

SILENT AUCTION - May 14:  Please contact Nicole at Nicole.berridge@gmail.com or 831-331-3431 to donate or to help.  Questions about Classroom Gift Baskets, please contact  Diana Thayer through bcepc.execs@gmail.com.  Flyers went home earlier in the week regarding your classroom gift basket theme and your teachers have received examples of each theme.

 

DO YOU KNOW SLVHS SENIOR WHO IS ABOUT TO GRADUATE? 

Each year Boulder Creek Elementary School Parents Club awards a scholarship to a former BCE student.   Last year, we awarded two $500 scholarships and we plan on doing it again this year!   Please help get the word out about this opportunity for financial assistance.  The application can be picked up from Jeannette Lange in the SLVHS Counseling Center.  The deadline is Thursday, May 1.

 

BCE Parents Club Positions for the 2016 – 2017 school year – Now is a good time to start thinking about applying for Parents Club board and committee positions.  We will need officers and volunteers to run fun family events.  In the next couple of weeks, be on the look out for details to come home with your child.

 

Carnival – Yeah!  The much-anticipated BCE Carnival is coming soon. Save the date for Saturday, May 14^th.  The festivities will begin at 10:30 am and last until 3:30 pm.  As always, this will be an event to remember!  Of course, we will need all of you to help to carry on this epic tradition.  Please plan to volunteer for an hour or more, donate an item for your classroom's silent auction basket, and/or participate in the magical events planned for the day.  On the day of the event, you will enjoy inflatables, midway games, silent auction bidding, BBQ and snack food, face painting, a dunk tank, socializing with the community and much, much more.

 

Walk/Jog-a-thon – Although the deadline was, March 31^st, we will continue to honor your pledges.  Please turn in your pledge money as soon as you can.  Thank you, BCE Parents, for supporting this important fundraiser.
