Dear BCE Families,
Fun! ~ I hope you had a chance to make it up to our Halloween parade. The costumes were amazing, the kids were excited, and the skies were dry! It made for quite a wonderful morning.
New Drop off Area ~ IMPORTANT REMINDER, please remember that the new drop off area on Laurel is not a place to park your car. This drop off area is intended to be a place to drop off your student in a safe place while you stay in the car and drive off after they exit the vehicle.
College Awareness Week ~ This week has been College Awareness week across the county. At BCE we've been wearing college t-shirts and sweatshirts, talking about our alma maters, discussing the prerequisites for jobs our students are interested in, etc. In elementary school we focus on keeping doors open and creating lifelong learners that will be ready for the jobs and experiences that will be available for them as adults.
Fall Back ~ Don't forget to change your clock this weekend. It's the end of daylight savings time and we get to move our clocks back and get that hour of sleep back we lost in the spring!
Check It Out! ~ Have you noticed our new bulletin board located outside the office? We are recognizing all our students who have perfect attendance each month.
BCE Book Fair ~ The Book Fair will take place in our library from 8 am to 5 pm during Family Conference week, 11/14 – 11/18. Our book fairs are the only source of funding available to our library and all profits go to purchase new books and library equipment for BCE students. When you're visiting campus for your student's conference, consider stopping by for a look and perhaps even some holiday shopping!
Canned Food Drive ~ The Valley Christmas Project Canned Food Drive is up and running. Please send in your non-perishable donations to help support families in our community. This is a great opportunity for our children to discover the good feeling we receive when we do good things for others.
SLV Rotary Club ~ We want to send out a big THANK YOU! to our own SLV Rotary Club. Last week was their annual presentation of dictionaries to our 4th graders. The students loved receiving the dictionaries and it was fun to hear the comments from the 5th graders who remembered the day the received their dictionary and are still using them.
Lost and Found ~ As the weather has cooled down we've had an explosion of lost and found apparel. Please come by to see if your student's missing outerwear may still be here at school. Thank you!

"Success is not measured by what you do compared to others. Success is what you do compared to what you are capable of doing."
Did you know???
Students can fall behind if they miss a day or two every few weeks.
Thank you for supporting your student by getting them to school and being on time every day!
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!
