BCE's Holiday Gift Shift ~ Please mark your calendar for the annual BCE Gift Shift, on Friday December 8, 12:30 - 6:00. We will be collecting gently used toys, books, videos, and video games; however, we do not accept clothing items. This year we will also have a section with items suitable for children to give to adults. Donations can be delivered to the Office at Boulder Creek Elementary. We will set up everything on Thursday, December 7.
Help Please! ~ Please make sure your students stay close to you during after school pick up. We have many students who appear to be unsupervised playing on the equipment or running up the hills which is not safe and off limits. We want to make sure all our BCE Bears are safe and following the BCE Way.
Canned Food Drive ~ The Valley Christmas Project Canned Food Drive is up and running. Please send in your non-perishable donations to help support families in our community. This is a great opportunity for our children to discover the good feeling we receive when we do good things for others.
SLV Foundation for Education is Raising Money for our Schools
San Lorenzo Valley Foundation for Education is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization. We provide an easy way to support a broad or specific tax deductible donation to the SLV schools and clubs, including Charter and Homeschool groups. Calendar Note ~ Just a heads up that Winter Break will begin on a Friday this year. The last day of school for 2017 will be Thursday December 21, Friday December 22 is a school holiday.

Staff and students shall refrain from bringing furred or feathered animals, stuffed toys that may collect dust mites, scented candles, incense or air fresheners and from using perfume or cologne, scented hair spray, nail polish or nail polish remover that are not fragrance-free in classrooms or other enclosed areas or buildings.
BCE PARENT CLUB EVENT & MEETING REMINDERS:
Holiday Gift Shift: We are gearing up for our Annual Gift Shift taking place all day on December 8 in the MP Room. This is a very special event where the MP Room is transformed into a store where kids can go shopping for their family members. Gift wrapping is provided on site. For this event to be a success we need donations of new or gently used items such as toys, book, stuffed animals etc. Gifts for children to give to their parents or other primary caregiver are also needed, such as jewelry, purses, books, puzzles.... If you are interested in volunteering for this event please contact Kaytie Booth at kaytiebooth@gmail.com. Donations are accepted up until the day of the event.
Family Dinner Night: There will be two family dinner nights in December! The first one is at the Red Pearl on December 5, with extended hours of 11 am - 10 pm! This fundraiser will benefit the Science Program.
The second dinner night is at the Pizza and Pub and includes Trivia! This will take place December 19 and proceeds benefit 4th grade. The times will be on the December calendar that should be going home with your child today.
Spiritwear: Spiritwear orders have arrived and will be distributed early next week! If you forgot to order or would like to purchase one as a gift, we do have some extra sizes in stock - first come, first served so act fast. Payment can be remitted to the office by cash or check only. Checks must be made out to BCE Parent Club. Please contact Kat Gafford at misstrinam@gmail.com or Amber Jones at amber_g@sbcglobal.net. All purchases are final!
Meetings: We encourage you to attend the School Board meeting on Wednesday, December 6, 6-8 pm. This date is also marked on the monthly take home calendar.
There is a School Site Council meeting on Monday, December 11, after school in the BCE library. All are welcome to attend.
Our next parent club meeting is scheduled for Thursday, December 14, 6-8 pm in the BCE library. Childcare is always provided. We hope you can make it!

Box tops: Please continue to collect those box tops! We raised $300 from our first collection last month! Congratulations to room 4, they won for most box tops collected and have earned a pizza party for their class! The next box top deadline is Friday December 15. The prize for the months of November/December will be determined and announced January 2018. The blue collection sheet should go home today with the December calendar (also a blue handout).
