Need Kindergarten? ~ Kindergarten registration for Fall 2018 is open.  Visit the BCE office to pick up a registration packet and sign up for a spot to attend one of our three Kindergarten orientations and tours.  Tours will take place at 9 am on March 22, April 24 and May 18.  To begin the registration process, please plan on bringing your child's Birth Certificate, Immunization Record and Proof of Residency with you.

Children must be five years old by September 1 in order to enroll in Kindergarten.  If your student has a September, October or November birthday you might be interested in our Transitional Kindergarten (TK) program.  For more information, please call the BCE office at 831-338-6413.

We're looking forward to your student joining our BCE learning community!

Empathy Quote of the Week :

"In a high-IQ job pool, soft skills like discipline, drive and empathy mark those who emerge as outstanding."
~ Daniel Goleman

Did you know???
Lessons that our teachers create and present in class cannot be duplicated by completing worksheets or pages in a textbook.  When your student misses time from class they are not receiving the quality experience they have with our outstanding staff.

Thank you for supporting your student by getting them to school every day and on time!

Wishing you all a wonderful 3-day weekend!

The BCE Way:  BE RESPECTFUL, BE SAFE, BE RESPONSIBLE

This is a reminder that San Lorenzo Valley Unified School District policy, as set by the Board of Trustees, declares that we are a fragrant-neutral district. As we continue to have assemblies and other site-based activities and meetings, please take care to follow the policies below for the sake of the students and members of our community who are highly allergic to fragrances and scents.

The SLVUSD Board of Trustees adopted a California School Board Association policy to make all district classrooms and offices fragrant neutral. BCE has parents, students, and community members with respiratory issues who can have negative reactions to fragrances. Please take care to follow the policy while on campus.

Staff and students shall refrain from bringing furred or feathered animals, stuffed toys that may collect dust mites, scented candles, incense or air fresheners and from using perfume or cologne, scented hair spray, nail polish or nail polish remover that are not fragrance-free in classrooms or other enclosed areas or buildings.

BCE PARENT CLUB EVENT & MEETING REMINDERS:
CARNIVAL KICK OFF MEETING! Please join us in the planning of this year's Carnival.  All are welcome and needed! Tuesday March 13, 7 pm at Casa Nostra. It's BCE family dinner night, so plan your dinner as well!
Last week we thanked two parents who provided the jam and breads on Thursday. I regret one name was misspelled and the other was an incorrect last name. Let me once again thank Kristin Ghibeish and Karen Collins for their amazing jam and bread spread for our teachers and staff. I apologize for my error. (KG)

Movie Night is tonight!  We are showing is COCO! We will begin at 6 PM. G's taco truck will be available from 5:00-6:30 PM (the same taco cart {but with a truck} we had at the dance). This event is free admission where popcorn and water will be provided while supplies last. Juice and bake sale items will be available for purchase with proceeds to benefit 5th grade science camp.

We are just only one week away from the Walk/Jog! Pledge sheets and volunteer information should have been sent home with your child earlier this week. Currently, we are accepting water donations in the front office. If you are available the day of and want to help please e-mail Kat at misstrinam@gmail.com. This is always a fun event and if you are able to take some time out of your work day to watch and cheer the students on they absolutely love it.

Our next Family Dinner Night is Tuesday March 13, at Casa Nostra. The event is 11 AM -9 PM and 20% of profits will go to the music program. The best part is that our Carnival Kickoff meeting will be at the same place at 7 pm! Come grab a bite, join us for the meeting to find out how you can help make our Carnival a big success!

This link is provided as a courtesy for parents & students, by the San Lorenzo Valley Unified School District, to receive information of current local events and opportunities.  The San Lorenzo Valley Unified School District does not sponsor or endorse any of the organizations or events that are located here.

The Flyer Process for San Lorenzo Valley Unified School District is posted on the "home" page of the District website at www.slvusd.org.   The flyers and/or blurbs are no longer inserted into the school newsletters or distributed to the children.  The District is making an effort to reduce the amount of paper that is sent home with your child(ren) and is working together to streamline the newsletter so that you read about the most important information regarding your child's school.  The District has created a website where all of the approved flyers will be posted (Community Opportunity).
