Dear BCE Families,
Fire Prevention Week ~ We just finished up Fire Prevention Week here at BCE. We want to extend our thanks to the Valley Fire Departments who help keep us safe. Please ask your student what they learned this week and how that will help keep them safe in case of an emergency.
Lost & Found ~ Our lost and found pile continues to grow. We have a large amount of sweaters and jackets that have accumulated over the past 6 weeks. As the weather begins to get cooler (I'm sure it will someday!) your students will need those extra layers. Please come by and take a look. You may be able to save some money for raffle tickets if you don't have to buy that new jacket!
Don't forget to put your student's name on the inside collar of the garment. This will help us return the item to your student should it be left on the playground. Thank you!
Drive for Schools ~ Would you like to win a car or $25,000 and support BCE? Raffle tickets are $5.00 each or a book of 6 for $25.00. Tickets are available in the office and remember, all proceeds go to BCE! Thank you for supporting our students!
Halloween Costumes ~ It's October and I know many students are already planning their Halloween costumes. There are a few guidelines regarding costumes. Costumes should be in good taste and safely constructed so that they do not interfere with regular class activities. Gruesome costumes and bloody, fake wounds are not appropriate for an elementary school. Weapons (including fakes), skateboards and roller blades are not allowed as part of costumes. If you are unsure, please contact your child's teacher or the office before purchasing the costume
College Awareness Week ~ October 27 – November 3
BCE will be participating with the rest of SLVUSD in recognizing College Awareness Week. It is important that as an elementary school we begin to prepare students to attend college or other post-secondary educational programs. Most of the jobs that our students will have as adults will require additional education past high school. We want our BCE Bears to be prepared to succeed in any future they can dream of!

This link is provided as a courtesy for parents & students, by the San Lorenzo Valley Unified School District, to receive information of current local events and opportunities. The San Lorenzo Valley Unified School District does not sponsor or endorse any of the organizations or events that are located here.
The Flyer Process for San Lorenzo Valley Unified School District is posted on the "home" page of the District website at www.slvusd.org. The flyers and/or blurbs are no longer inserted into the school newsletters or distributed to the children. The District is making an effort to reduce the amount of paper that is sent home with your child(ren) and is working together to streamline the newsletter so that you read about the most important information regarding your child's school. The District has created a website where all of the approved flyers will be posted (Community Opportunity).
