Special BCE Bearmail 3/14/17 - Rumor Control

March 14, 2017

Dear BCE Families,

I want to let you know the truth behind a rumor that seems to be spreading through some of our classrooms this afternoon.

Earlier today a pocketknife was found by a few students at morning recess and turned in to the office.  Some time later some blood spots were found in the tennis court area. As a safety precaution, I contacted our Sheriff's Resource Officer (SRO), Kris Koenig, and he came up to take a look at the tennis court and the security camera footage.  He quickly confirmed that the blood belonged to a small animal or two that had minor injuries to their feet.

Many of our teachers spoke to their students this afternoon to explain that the two events were completely unrelated and to dispel a rumor that there had been a more significant event on the tennis courts.

Thank you for helping to explain if your students have questions.

The BCE Way:  BE RESPECTFUL, BE SAFE, BE RESPONSIBLE
