Walk-Jogathon ~ The BCE Walk-jogathon has been rescheduled for next Tuesday, March 28. Thank you for being flexible and understanding as we all do our best to work around the vast amount of rain we've had this year!
Amazon ~ Our Parent Club participates in the Amazon Smile program. Signing up is easy! All you need to do is go to smile.amazon.com or click on the Amazon Smile button on our Parent Club home page (https://sites.google.com/
State Testing ~ Our 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students are scheduled to take the state assessment test (CAASPP) during the first two weeks of May. Please click here to read a letter from our District that will provide you with important additional information about the Smarter Balanced Assessment.
California School Dashboard ~ Please click here to view a letter that explains the preliminary roll-out of the new accountability system in California - The California School Dashboard. In addition, the California Department of Education has prepared a wealth of resources for parents you can explore. This is a very early version of the tool and we are all learning together, so please stay tuned for future updates.
Need Kindergarten? ~ Kindergarten registration for fall 2017 opened on March 15. Visit the BCE office to pick up a registration packet and sign up for a spot to attend one of our two remaining Kindergarten orientations and tours. Tours will take place at 9 am on April 18 and May 10 (adults only please). To begin the registration process, please plan on bringing your child's birth certificate, immunization record and proof of address (e.g. utility bill with your name and address). Children must be five years old by September 1 in order to enroll in Kindergarten. If your student has a September, October or November birthday you might be interested in our Transitional Kindergarten (TK) program. For more information please call the BCE office at 831-338-6413.

Please Join Us! ~ Please join our superintendent, Dr. Laurie Bruton, as she discusses the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) for SLVUSD. For your convenience two meetings have been planned. The first will take place on March 28 at 6:30 pm in the Multi-Use room at the High School and the second meeting will take place on April 11 in the library at BCE.
